A Snapshot of Air Quality Around Oregon And Resources for the Eclipse

Here is a quick look at air quality around the state, with conditions current as of Friday afternoon.

Central Oregon saw significant smoke from the Milli Fire (pictured above) outside of Sisters, with Prineville and Bend showing moderate air quality. Sisters air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Southern Oregon air quality was poor, with Klamath showing unhealthy conditions. The rest of south Oregon flucatuated between moderate and unhealthy for sensitive groups, including the cities of Roseburg, Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Medford, Ashland and Lakeview.

All the monitors in northeast and northwest Oregon showed good air quality, including the Portland metropolitan area, Salem and Corvallis.

Since a number of Oregonians and folks from around the country will be traveling through the state we wanted to provide a few additional resources for those with questions about air quality and wildfires.

Oregon Emergency Response System’s RAPTOR allows users to view locations of active wildfires, red flag warnings, road closures and air quality monitors in Oregon. View the public tool at http://www.oregon.gov/oem/emops/Pages/RAPTOR.aspx ODOT’s TripCheck has detailed information on road conditions as well at https://tripcheck.com/Pages/RCMap.asp#
