Oregon Smoke Information

Map Notes:

The map above is not able to show all state air quality monitors. To see the whole set, go to the left column, under Hot Links
and click on DEQ Air Quality map which will bring up a map with many additional state monitors. Round icons represent permanent state air quality monitors, triangular icons represent temporary smoke monitors (when deployed).

  1. Hi! It is smoky here in Bend again, today is Tuesday Oct 10th :(
Could you do a blog post or comment about what is going on now and what to expect? We were hoping the smoky days were over, but clearly not.

  2. Hi Rebecca,
Sorry to hear that. I checked with folks in our Bend and they said smoke from the fires in Northern California is impacting the region. We'll keep an eye on the situation. Right now the monitors in Bend, Prineville, Madras and Redmond are all moderate -- but as you know air quality changes quickly. Take care!

  3. Smoky in Klamath Falls as well! Marie

    1. Thanks, Marie. As soon as I posted that I saw yellow (moderate) readings all across Southern Oregon too.

  4. Dear Smoke Blog,
Thank you SO MUCH for the work you do! I've followed your blog all summer and truly appreciate your factual, science-based information.

I'm trying to find out the number of days in 2017 that have had unhealthy, very unhealthy or hazardous air quality in the Ashland/Medford area. Can you point me towards a source for that information? You can reach me at stephanysp@gmail.com.
Thanks again for all the good work you do!
