Smoke from wildfires impacting Southern Oregon

Wildfire smoke is affecting a number of areas in Southern Oregon. Medford and Ashland both showed moderate readings around 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Yellow or moderate is unhealthy for extremely sensitive groups.

But remember air quality can change rapidly, so keep an eye on the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality's Air Quality Index to track conditions where you are. (You can also download the AQI on your smart phone. Just look for OregonAir in you app store.)

Firefighters are continuing to fight a number of fires in the area -- dozens were sparked by lightning on Sunday -- in hot, dry conditions. For the latest on the fires check Oregon Department of Forestry's blog and follow ODF's Southwest Oregon District on Twitter (@swofire) and Facebook (@ODFSouthwest).
