The View Of Chiloquin This Morning and Resources for Driving When It's Smoky

The air quality in Klamath Falls has been hazardous much of the morning and was just shy of hazardous terrain when these photos were snapped around 6:15 this morning. Thanks once again to Jim Carey at Klamath County Public Health for the photos, which were taken on Modoc Point Road in Chiloquin and on Highway 97 while driving around the east side of Klamath Lake.

An air quality advisory is still in place for Klamath, Jackson and Josephine counties as well as portions of Lake County. Remember to check the map above or DEQ's Air Quality Index for current Air Quality conditions. You can also download the app by searching for OregonAir on your smart phone.

We know visibility can be a concern when driving when it's smoky. The Washington State Health Department offers some advice including keeping the windows closed and putting the air conditioner on re-circulate and maintaining your car's air filters.

And remember in Oregon that Oregon Emergency Response System’s RAPTOR allows users to view locations of active wildfires, red flag warnings, road closures and air quality monitors in Oregon.

ODOT’s TripCheck has detailed information on road conditions as well.
