Air quality remains unhealthy in northeast Oregon

Smoke in northeastern Oregon continues to be unhealthy for sensitive populations, including in Joseph, La Grande and Enterprise. Air quality monitors on Thursday morning showed those areas to have the poorest air quality in the state.

Monitors in Sisters and Detroit Lake also showed air quality that was unhealthy for sensitive popuations, which includes the young, the elderly and people with existing medical conditions such as asthma.

Air quality has improved in northeast Jackson County, including around Crater Lake National Park. Air quality in the rest of Jackson County remains moderate, including Medford and the rest of southwest Oregon.
